random thoughts

i’ll probably post these random thoughts periodicly.

UPS: Well, turns out i got a paycheck after all. They still had my direct deposit information and since i chose paperless way back in june 06, i didn’t get a stub. Less for me to deal with, thats for sure.

The job its self is pretty easily. I get to banter a lot with Joe, and i’m learning stuff about a job i could possibly have in 3-4 years. The 9:30-8 shifts are pretty daunting, but its worth it for the pay and i’m probably losing a little weight (which is always a plus).  The only thing that really bugs me about the job is the fact that i don’t know when and how long im working till Joe calls me at 8:30. It makes planning to do stuff with friends pretty much near impossible. The free weekends are very nice though.  I learned early on that “taking about your mom” with your brother isn’t quite the same as bantering with friends.

I need to sell my car.  In fact i need to sell it bad. I spent 3ish hours detailing the interior  on Saturday, and i am very suprised at how shiny and clean everything is (pictures coming soon).  My goal is $2000, but i’ll drop down to $1500 if i really have to. Every penny that i get from that car goes straight into the magic BECU savings account.   One other thing, The ol Nissan is now over 200,000 miles on the odometer. I passed that milestone near the bottom of elhi hill heading west on 410 on sunday night.

Other random comments:

I’ve been reading about restuarants in Seattle that i want to visit before i leave. From what i gather, i need to visit the following.

  • Red Mill Burgers (tops red robin by far apparently)
  • Pizzeria Pagliacci
  • Pecos Pit BBQ
  • Salumi
  • Goritos Burritos

Funny that everything besides pecos. all of those are more lunch style quickish food meals. If you know me, you know i love that type of meal.. Anything that gets me good food at a cheap price is good for me. Oh how i miss Bajio, Cafe Rio and Sonic!

Lastly for this post, what kind of car do i want when i get back.

I still think i’m stuck on 3 cars

  1. 1992 -1999 Acura Integra GS.
  2. 1995-1999 Honda Prelude SI
  3. 1995-2000 Toyota Tacoma 2×4 V6

The only requirement i have is that it has to be a 5 speed. I could go on and on about other things i want in the car, but i really shouldn’t be worrying about this stuff.  All i know, is that when i get back. I am borrowing whatever car my mom has and taking a 1-2 week roadtrip to Rexburg then Provo. It’ll have been nearly 4 years since i’ve seen the guys, and assuming they are still at school, i have to hang out with them.

Thats all i have right now.

heading out

we’re leaving nampa in a few minutes a think. Headed to american fork.  It says just over 5 hours, but with kids and stops, it’ll probably be late afternoon or evening.  Im ready for more car time… ish

Shacked up for the night.

245 am. We’ll we have arrived in nampa. The place where we are staying the night. The plan is to leave here in the early afternoon today. It’s been a long drive in the dark, but it’s been funish. There is wifi here, but its secured so i’m stuck using my phone. I’m done for the night. I’m dead tired

Headed to utah 10/12

So im writing this before i leave. I should be blogging daily while in utah and posting pictures also. If we come to a place where there is wi-fi, i will certainly blog from there.

since i’ll have my laptop in the car, i may write down thoughts that come to me as well, and post them when i get the chance.

heres the trip plan for the way there

4:30 leave puyallup for boise, idaho. Stay in boise 2 nights and arrive in American fork utah sometime on sunday afternoon.

Wish me luck as i am about to be packed in a full minivan with 3 kids, my bro and his wife.

10/10

crazy crazy day.

so  i awoke around 11 and decided taco bell would please my pallate, so i went to taco bell for lunch. After ordering my food at the drive through i noticed my work called. they wanted me to come in early due to an emergency in the store managers family, resulting in a really low staff.

so i arrived at work at 12. work was slow at 1st, then all the sudden for a good 2-3 hours it got insane. we had 4 people working in the building total. It was a free for all for employees if you wanted a break or lunch. just let someone know that your leaving, and then you’d be called back to the floor regardless.

anyways, i escaped my job at 6pm. Went home, ate a decent bbq steak dinner, showered and went to my church interview. In 3-4 weeks time, i will receive my mission call. I’m getting excited for this new chapter in my life, and i’m really going to start preparing for it.

in other news.

im getting really excited for the AL and NL championship series coming up in the playoffs. My team is colorado (thanks to my loyalty to my favorite player: todd helton, since the late 90’s). Colorado – Arizona is going to be a great series in my opinion. Both teams have an ACE starter. Jeff Francis(17-9) for the rocks will be facing Brandon Webb (18-10)in the series opener.

The rest of the rotations are average. Arizona’s does feature old rubber armed Livan Hernandez, and Youngster Micah Owings. Owings had two 4+ hit offensive games this year, including an 8 RBI performance one game, plus hes a talented young pitcher. Colorado and Arizona have airtight bullpens, with Colorado getting the edge.

Both teams boast a strong offense and i predict that there will be a couple high scoring showdowns in the series. Namely in Colorado when both teams average starters will get demolished in a coor’s field fashion.

I hope that Colorado holds on through this series. Catch it on TBS starting on thursday night.

I’ll be writing more on the Cleveland – Boston series as well.

lastly, Colorado has won 17 of their last 18 games. The last loss was September 28th i believe, against the Arizona Diamondbacks ironicly.

I’m going to bed. work in the late morning-early afternoonish.

well

not much going on the last couple days. nothing really of note at all in fact. I’m trying to get a computer to read my memory card which contains 2 mariners games worth of pics that i havent put on my computer yet.

i have the final mission paper interview tomorrow night, then they finally get sent off.

i dont have anything else
